Being positive can do wonders, but I know it can be difficult. I know that sounds cliche and all, I get it. I was the most negative person last year, I would have panic crying sessions every so often, sometimes I would log into my school loop, see my grades, and just burst out crying. I looked in the mirror, saw this ugly, fat girl and I would just silently cry and then I would get mad, frustrated with myself and I didn’t feel capable of what everyone else around me was capable of. But I’ve grown to be better.

So today I wanted to talk about staying motivated and positive and I will be linking some videos that really helped me not only push myself to change but be consistent and not give up.

Staying motivated means you first need to set a list of goals. Don’t make too many, just write down ( this is important as writing helps you solidify your thoughts) a handful of goals. It can be anything, like walking my dog more or listening to new music. Then maybe watch a few transformation videos on youtube ( this personally motivates me even more). Make a checklist for each goal, like things that will help you accomplish it. Then, at the end of every week, Sunday night ( I find Sunday evenings super calming, not sure why), get a warm drink, sit down, and review what you did. Take note of how you can do things better but ALSO make sure to appreciate you doing good.

Picking yourself up takes courage and getting through one week of modified and new habits is a huge accomplishment in itself. Second, I would suggest drinking tea and writing your thoughts in a journal. This will help you clear your mind, and that is really important when getting motivated. journaling has been proven to significantly improve emotional and mental health.

Apart from your goals, try to maintain some passion projects and give yourself time to relax This helps a lot. Make a youtube channel or blog or draw, anything really. And this is where being positive comes in. Being positive is vital to being motivated. The worst thing you can do is beat yourself up for making mistakes. Making mistakes is healthy and normal because you learn from them.

Don’t get mad at yourself, view mistakes as steps in your journey and a learning experience. If you’re trying to lose weight and eat a few cookies, ITS OKAY infact please eat more cookies!! Another positive thing is to reward yourself for good things you do. This helps you stay positive AND motivated. Everything takes time.

Also, surround yourself with like-minded, optimistic people. Surrounding yourself in a positive environment with positive people is one of the best things you can do. This helps foster positivity in your mind and soul. Also remember it's okay to have bad days, cry it out sometimes. A bad day isn't a bad life, remember this to help you stay positive. YOU CAN DO THIS!!

Lastly, talk to people. Talk to your loved ones, whenever you are feeling down or having a bad day. Venting and emotional release is so important. Being able to talk about your problems and opening up is a sign of strength not weakness. Being vulnerable helps your character but also your emotional health. Please never hesitate to reach out to anyone. The people that care and love you want the best for you.

I am adding links to some uplifting channels and videos here. Take a deep breath, everything will end up okay <3
